David Villa has played with a number of special players throughout his career, and he believes current New York City FC teammate has a quality that only a few of them have had.
Shortly after seeing Jack Harrison score a goal and assist on another in NYCFC's 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls this past weekend, Villa heaped public praise on the 19-year-old rookie. This was not just any compliment either. This was a strong statement about Harrison's ability coming from a player who has played at the highest level alongside the likes of Leo Messi, Xavi, and Andres Iniesta.
"I’ve spent a lot of years in this game, and he has something important that only a few players have," Villa told reporters. "When he has the ball at his feet, you get the sensation something is going to happen. Few players give you that feeling and he has it. He has it at 19-years-old, with not much time as a professional."
Villa was not the only member of NYCFC to have kind things to say about Harrison, who on Wednesday was named Week 17's MLS Player of the Week. See what other members of the club stated about the youngster and his impressive performance here. You can see Harrison in action twice this week as New York City visit the New England Revolution on Wednesday night (7:30 pm ET; MLS LIVE) before visiting Sporting Kansas City (8 pm ET; FS1).
