This will be the first meeting all-time between Costa Rica and Bermuda.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica made sure the fans at Estadio Nacional in San Jose didn't head home disappointed, cruising to a 4-0 win over Nicaragua in the first Gold Cup match played outside of the United States, Mexico or Canada in their Group B opener Sunday.
Bryan Oviedo got the party going with a 7th-minute goal and Celso Borges doubled the advantage inside the opening 20 minutes. Elias Aguilar gave the Ticos a commanding 3-0 lead with a first-half stoppage time goal and FC Cincinnati midfielder Allan Cruz capped the scoring with a sensational strike in the 75th minute.
Bermuda
The Gold Cup debutants made things difficult for Haiti, which needed a pair of second-half goals to rally for a 2-1 win in both teams Group B opener.
The Gombey Warriors famous first goal in the Gold Cup was scored by Dante Leverock, whose rose up to meet Osagi Bascome's corner kick and head home for a shock 1-0 halftime lead. Haiti recovered, though, with Frantzdy Pierrot scoring a brace in a 12-minute span to avoid the upset and take all three points.
