The field is set for the championship phase of the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League. So, how does it work?

Who's In

The four semifinalists are set, with the US national team joining their fellow League A group winners Honduras, Mexico and Costa Rica having booked their tickets to what's officially called the Concacaf Nations League Championship Final.

Mexico has earned the top seed via their dramatic late victory over Bermuda later Tuesday night, and will play fourth seed Costa Rica in one semifinal. That leaves third-seeded US to face second-seeded Honduras in the other.

Canada narrowly missed out on the semfinals, finishing even with the US on points in League A, Group A but well behind on the first tiebreaker of goal difference.

How it works

Teams will play two games in the Championship Final phase, which is scheduled for June (location to be announced at a later date). The semifinal will be a single game, with the winner of each semifinal going to the final, while the losing team in each game will go on to play the third-place game.

The teams were seeded based on their points earned in the group stage. Tiebreakers were, in order: goal difference, goals scored, away goals scored and disciplinary points. But none were necessary to determine the seeds for the four semifinalists in the current tournament.
