TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Re-signed
Ricardo Clark is coming back.
Columbus Crew SC announced Thursday that the club have re-signed the veteran midfielder for his 15th season in Major League Soccer. Clark joined the Crew ahead of the 2018 season, making 13 appearances (8 starts) for the club.
“We are pleased to welcome back Ricardo to Columbus Crew SC in 2019,” Crew SC president Tim Bezbatchenko said in a statement. “Ricardo’s vast experience in MLS and with the U.S. Men’s National Team continues to be valuable to the Club. Ricardo’s work rate on and off the field not only helps achieve results but also sets an example for players of all ages on the roster and we look forward to his contributions in his 15th season in this League.”
Clark, 35, was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2003 SuperDraft and has made 350 career appearances in the league, spanning 28,768 minutes. He spent 2010-12 abroad in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt then in Norway with Stabæk before returning to the league.
He has spent time with the MetroStars, San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo.
