The Colorado Rapids, along with the US Soccer Foundation and Target, constructed a mini-pitch in Denver, providing a space to play soccer for the underserved community in the city's Cole neighborhood.
The mini-pitch was installed at the Wyatt Academy K-5 Community Center in Denver.
"This is a great day for the kids in the Cole community,” Rapids senior director of community relations and youth programming Caitlin Kinser said in a club statement. "These mini-pitches have a tremendous impact in their communities and we’re excited to see them continue to grow."
This is the second mini-pitch the Rapids have built with partners in the Denver area, and a third in the state of Colorado after building one in Commerce City in 2015. The new pitch is one of seven Target built in partnership with the US Soccer Foundation, as part of the retail corporation's aim to build 100 mini-pitches across the United States
