Who do you think should have been named MLS Player of the Week for Matchday 6?
Someone finally knocked Thierry Henry off his three-week perch.
After Henry set a record by winning the weekly award for three weeks running, Chivas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy captured MLS Player of the Week for Week 6 after shutting out Toronto FC, accomplishing what no one else was capable of for nearly a month.
Kennedy was voted the weekend's best performer by the North American Soccer Reporters after registering four saves, including standout efforts against Luis Silva and Danny Koevermans, in Chivas' 1-0 road win over Toronto FC. After enjoying a standout season with the Rojiblancos in 2011, Kennedy has picked up right where he left off in 2012, allowing just four goals in six games (0.66 GAA) and recording three wins.
In a week in which opinions were split, Kennedy recieved five of 17 first-place votes among the media members submitting ballots (see how the media voted here). Sporting Kansas City's Aurelien Collin received three first-place votes, Landon Donovan and Zach Scott each earned two apiece and Blas Pérez, David Beckham, David Junior Lopes, Heath Pearch and Joe Willis all garnered a single vote.
