Chicago Fire defender Raheem Edwards will miss 4–6 weeks with a second degree lateral collateral ligament (LCL) sprain in his knee, the club announced Thursday.
Edwards, 23, has featured in one match for the Fire this season, scoring a goal off the bench in their 4-2 loss to the Seattle Sounders. He was acquired by the club last July and made 13 appearances after joining from the Montreal Impact.
Prior to Chicago, Edwards spent time with Toronto FC and the Impact, making 36 appearances in his stints at the two Canadian clubs.
The Fire are next in action on Saturday against Toronto (3 pm ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, TSN4 in Canada)
