New England Revolution forward Charlie Davies threw out the first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game on Wednesday night, and he appears to have picked up a new friend at Fenway Park.
Davies presented Red Sox legend David Ortiz with a personalized, No. 34 Revs jersey in the Red Sox dugout before throwing out the first pitch.
He got his own jersey in return, too.
The jersey swap might have paid off for the Red Sox – Big Papi and Boston beat the Orioles 4-2 on Wednesday, dealing Baltimore their first loss of the young MLB season.
Davies and the Revs will be looking for a win of their own this Sunday, when they face Orlando City at the Citrus Bowl (3:30 pm ET, ESPN in the US, MLS LIVE in Canada).
