James Pantemis dives - CF Montreal

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Extension

CF Montreal and goalkeeper James Pantemis have agreed to a contract extension, the club announced Monday. The deal runs through 2022 with a club option for 2023.

Pantemis, who turns 24 next month, has made three career MLS starts, all coming in successive matches in October. The homegrown spent the first part of the year with Canadian Premier League club Valour FC.

“This extension is the result of James’ positive development over the past few years," sporting director Olivier Renard said in a club statement. “His loan last year benefited him ahead of his MLS debut. He showed us his qualities and convinced us to keep working with him. This Academy product has all the trust from the Club, but it is now up to him to keep on working and keep progressing.”

The goalkeeper has been called into various Canadian national team camps, though has yet to debut for his country.

Pantemis, Clement Diop and Jonathan Sirois are the club's current goalkeepers. Diop started 20 of the club's regular season matches as well as their playoff loss to the New England Revolution.
