The Montreal Impact have announced their 25-man roster for when the club resumes its Concacaf Champions League campaign later this month, with forward Bojan not among the players on the list.
The Spanish attacker's future with the club is uncertain after Montreal declined his 2021 contract option, but left the door open to a potential return, with sporting director Olivier Renard saying the Impact have extended him an offer to come back.
Perhaps the 30-year-old will eventually accept that deal, but it won't be for the upcoming CCL match, which will see Montreal take the field for a quarterfinal return leg against Honduran side CD Olimpia on December 15 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando.
The Impact will be trying to overcome a 2-1 deficit after the first leg back on March 10 before the continental tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bojan appeared in 17 games for the Impact in 2020, starting 14 of them and putting up four goals and two assists in 1,159 minutes. He is a former teammate of head coach Thierry Henry at Barcelona, where he started his professional career from 2007-2011.
Montreal forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel is listed on the 25-man roster for CCL despite also having his contract option declined.
