Bolivia's Copa America Centenario hopes were extinguished after just two games thanks to Friday's dramatic 2-1 loss to Chile, their second loss of the tournament.
But Jhasmani Campos gave his nation something to be very proud of, conjuring up one of the most dazzling goals of the Copa to date with his blistering 61st-minute free kick to level the match at Gillette Stadium at 1-1.
Hit from well over 30 meters out, it fooled Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo -- who, it's worth noting, fields shots from the likes of Neymar and Lionel Messi on a daily basis at FC Barcelona -- with a stunning combination of bend, pace and accuracy.
An attacker who plays his club ball with Kuwaiti side Kazma SC, Campos thought he'd kept Bolivia's hopes alive for at least one more match. Arturo Vidal ended that dream with a contentious penalty kick deep into the game's lengthy stretch of stoppage time, but Campos' set-piece wizardry will not soon be forgotten.
