The Chicago Fire will have to make do without the services of midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in Saturday's visit to Columbus Crew SC (7:30 pm ET | ESPN+ - full TV & streaming info). The German World Cup winner, who has started eight of Chicago's nine games so far this season, is being rested after going the full 90 both last Saturday and in Wednesday's win over Montreal:
Without Schweinsteiger in the lineup, Fire head coach Veljko Paunovic opted to start Dax McCarty and rookie Mo Adams in the central midfield spots and Aleksandar Katai at attacking midfield, as his team seeks consecutive wins for the first time this year. Schweinsteiger, who has a goal and four assists to his name in 2018, has featured both at his regular central midfield spot and occasionally as a sweeper in a three-man backline for Chicago (3-4-2).
