Atlanta United midfielder Mo Adams is committed to achieving racial equality and just treatment, both in soccer and life in general.
He addressed those very topics in the latest Adidas Ready for Change video, when reflecting on the Black Players for Change-led protest at this past summer’s MLS is Back Tournament. The powerful demonstration lasted 8 minutes and 46 seconds long in a tribute to George Floyd, who was murdered at the hands of Minneapolis police when an officer knelt on his neck for that same length of time.
“I think being able to speak out is very important and if it means some people may not agree or may not believe in what I say, that’s fair,” Adams said. “But ultimately I’m here on this Earth to make a change and I’ll continue doing that for as long as I live.”
