Inter Miami defender Andres Reyes was released from the hospital last night and is back at the Swan and Dolphin Resort, currently in isolation pending COVID-19 tests after he left the bubble for treatment.
Reyes went down in the 51st minute of Miami's 2-1 loss to Orlando City SC after a clash with Orlando striker Dom Dwyer. He was stretchered off with apparent breathing issues and was evaluated at a local hospital but didn't spend the night.
In a statement, Inter Miami said that the player doing well and in good spirits. Reyes will continue to be monitored and evaluated by medical teams at the hotel.
The 20-year-old defender was enjoying a strong performance and club captain Luis Robles pegged that moment as the turning point in the game. Miami were up 1-0 at the time.
Reyes is a member of the Colombian U-23 national team and has made 19 appearances with Nacional in his young career. He was on Colombia's squad at the U-20 World Cup, as they made it to the semifinals of the tournament last May.
Wednesday night's appearance was his second start of his nascent MLS career.
