GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Tigres UANL defender Jonathan Bornstein could be closing in on a move back to Chivas USA, at least according to a report out of Mexico.
Mexican sports daily La Afición on Friday reported that the 2010 World Cup veteran is in talks with various clubs in the United States, that his future will be decided in the next week and that Chivas USA is the most likely destination, although the quotes are attributed only to “a source.”

Bornstein told reporters in March and last month that he wouldn’t be averse to a move back to Chivas, but has said that the ideal scenario would see him prove himself in the Liga MX.
“I’m waiting, I’m speaking to my agents like always about what is best for me,” the 28-year-old left back said in Monterrey on June 12. “I’m looking at the options.”
The Los Angeles-area native has failed to get regular minutes at Tigres since moving to Mexico in December 2010.
Neither Bornstein, his agent nor Chivas USA responded immediately to requests for comments from MLSsoccer.com on Friday.
