GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Chivas USA midfielder Gabriel Farfan debuted Tuesday for loan club Chiapas FC in their 1-0 home loss to Lobos BUAP in Group 3 of the Copa MX.

Farfan (above) – wearing the No. 4 shirt – completed the full game for Jaguares after his move from MLS earlier this month, while forward Daniel Cuevas got 33 minutes for Puebla-based Lobos.

The result leaves both teams on four points and struggling to qualify for the knockout stage.

In Group 2, Sonny Guadarrama came on in the 65th for Necaxa, who fell 2-0 at Querétaro and sit in third place, three points behind first-place Gallos Blancos.

After featuring briefly in the Liga MX last weekend, Jonathan Bornstein got another 90 minutes under his belt in the Copa MX for Atlante in their 3-2 victory over Delfines del Carmen, with the three points lifting Los Potros into first place in Group 4.

Bornstein’s former teammate Jose Torres also played the complete game for Tigres UANL in Group 2, with Ricardo Ferretti’s team drawing 1-1 at Correcaminos, although the point means they are close to qualifying for the next round of the cup.
