If you thought Brenden Aaronson was the only member of his family with game-changing skill on the ball, think again.
The Philadelphia Union’s wunderkind has dazzled with his play at the MLS is Back Tournament, opening eyes here and abroad, with a host of potential European suitors sprouting up.
And on the same day Brenden and the Union were playing in the MLS is Back semifinals, his younger brother was proving some of those skills are indeed genetic.
His 16-year-old brother Paxten, called up to Philadelphia Union II last month, helped set up the game-winning goal for the USL Championship side against New York Red Bulls II with this sweet dummy.
If there's a sibling rivalry between the two, Brenden wasn't indicating that when asked about Paxten making his professional debut last month.
"I was really excited for him. I didn’t get to watch the game because we had training last night which was a shame and I wish I could’ve," Brenden said. "I’m going to go back and watch clips of him getting on the ball and see what he did — I’ll try to correct him and help him out with that kind of stuff. I couldn’t be more proud of him, I’m just excited to see where it goes from here. He’s got a lot to do and I’m excited to see it."
