The voters have spoken. During the "play-in round" of this year's Best-Dressed MLS Coach bracket, we had to eliminate six coaches to get to the Round of 16. Reigning champ Caleb Porter, head coach of the Portland Timbers, lives to defend his title in this round -- but he's got some tough competition.
Check out the bracket below and vote.
The round of 16 is now over; quarterfinals will last from then until 3 pm ET Thurs., Oct. 5, and The semifinals are now on until 3 pm ET Fri., Oct. 6.
We'll let the two survivors in the finals duke it out over the weekend through midnight ET on Sunday/technically Monday morning.
The winner gets, uh ... bragging rights. So who do you think is winning the touchline style game this season? Vote below, and scroll down, below the bracket, for a recap of how things have gone so far.
Play-In Round
With 22 teams, we had six too many coaches for a traditional 16-team, single-elimination bracket. So lasting from Monday to Tuesday afternoon, we ran a poll as a "play-in round," with the top 16 vote-getting coaches moving on to the bracket proper. Here's who got eliminated in that first cut:
- Sigi Schmid, LA Galaxy
- Adrian Heath, Minnesota United
- Mauro Biello, Montreal Impact
- Tom Soehn, New England Revolution
- Jason Kreis, Orlando City SC
- Chris Leitch, San Jose Earthquakes
