Cormac "doolsta" Dooley has been profiled on national television and after winning eMLS Series One last month, the Philadelphia Union's eMLS player is living up to the hype.
After an upset win in the final in Los Angeles over 2018's eMLS Cup champion, Houston Dynamo's Guillermo "Kid M3mito" Trevino, doolsta talked to Goal.com about his roster construction and tactics in the Series One win.
Among the highlights? His Union go-tos were defender Ray Gaddis and midfielder Borek Dockal, while a certain star forward elsewhere in the league made up his third MLS player. (One notable requirement in roster building for eMLS is that all gamers must have two players from the team they represent, plus one MLS player from another team, on the field at all times.)
"I always had it in my mind that I would have a Union player at either left back or right back and after using Ray Gaddis last year, I felt he was the right choice at left back," he said. "Borek Dockal was a no-brainer because of the 81-rated in-form he received and he linked well with Gaddis. Flashback [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic was my choice at striker due to his unbelievable stats which have him as the best card in MLS."
Doolsta also revealed that his preferred formation was "4-1-2-1-2 narrow for the tournament," something you can read more about in the interview on Goal.com.
And you can check out eMLS Series Two, which will take place at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco, Tex., on Feb. 17.
