Stop that, Eddie Segura!

The Colombian defender fired home a stunning 91st-minute game-winner as LAFC topped LIGA MX titans Toluca, 1-0, to keep their Leagues Cup 2026 hopes alive.

Saturday's instant classic at BMO Stadium saw Segura deliver arguably his most iconic moment for LAFC in more than 200 appearances since joining the Black & Gold ahead of the 2019 MLS season.

"He's [Segura] the type of player that if you have a white sheet and you start building a roster in this league, number one," said head coach Marc Dos Santos.

"... This goal is the reward from so much that he does when nobody watches. I'm very happy for him."

Stayin' Alive

The goal and the win keep LAFC alive in the tournament.

After earning two points from a 5-4 penalty-shootout win over Chivas, the Black & Gold are on five points.

Dos Santos & Co. know they'll almost certainly need a win in Wednesday's Phase One finale against Querétaro (10:30 pm ET | Apple TV) to advance to the quarterfinals.

But despite tired legs and a crowded regular-season schedule looming, a dramatic win over the reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winners gives LAFC everything to play for.

"It's hard, but right now we have put ourselves in a position that we could arrive in the final eight," said Dos Santos. "So we have to go for it."
